selma: the bridge to the ballot
“Selma: The Bridge to the Ballot” is 40-minute classroom film Teaching Tolerance produced for the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. In prep for the release of the film, I coordinated a social media campaign (#imarchfor) asking followers to write what they “march” for, take a photo, and share on social media. I also worked with a web-development consulting team to create a microsite for educators and civic organizations to order the film.
Ward 7 Storytelling Project
Dreaming Out Loud, Inc., in partnership with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and several community-based nonprofit partners, is in the midst of opening a 2-acre urban farm behind Kelly Miller Middle School in Ward 7 DC. In hopes of capturing the spirit, history and community in the Ward 7 community, I interviewed Ward 7 community residents on the struggles and triumphs of their neighborhoods. I combined photo, interview audio, and transcripts to display online.
